Among the rituals performed, are azan on the right ear and ikamah on the baby\u2019s left ear. The basis of the ritual is the hadith of Muhammad saw, that transmitted by Abu Daud, at Tirmizi, and Ahmad sourced from Ibn Abi Rafi. Other guidance is to do \u2018istiazah\u2019 or request protection from Allah for the safety of the baby, based on Ali Imran verse 36 and the hadith of the prophet which is sourced from Abu Hurairah and Ibn Abbas which is narrated by Imam Bukhari. There is a nuance of diversity behind the two guidelines, although both are sourced from the hadith of the prophet. The discussion in this paper will examine both in terms of Rijal Sanad and the fiqh side. Examining the side of Rijal Sanad is by using Jarh wa Ta\u2019dil while the legal aspects will be approached using the Ta\u2019arud al Adillah theory.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keywords: azan, ikamah, istiazah.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Abstrak<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Menyambut kelahiran bayi merupakan kegiatan yang dilakukan sebagai wujud syukur kepada Allah SWT. Diantara ritual yang dilakukan adalah mengumandangkan azan pada telinga kanan dan ikamah pada telinga kiri jabang bayi. Dasar ritual tersebut adalah hadis Muhammad SAW riwayat Ab\u016b D\u0101w\u016bd, at-Tirm\u1fd1\u017ci dan Ahmad yang bersumber dari Ibn Abi Rafi\u2019. Tuntunan lain adalah dengan mengistiazahi bayi atau meminta perlindungan kepada Allah Swt untuk keselamatan si bayi, berlandaskan Q.S. Ali Imr\u0101n (3) ayat 36 dan hadis nabi yang bersumber dari Ab\u016b Hurairah dan Ibnu \u2018Abb\u0101s yang diriwayatkan oleh Im\u0101m Bukh\u0101ri. Ada nuansa keberbedaan di balik kedua tuntunan tersebut, meski sama-sama bersumber dari hadis nabi, maka pembahasan dalam tulisan ini akan menelaah keduanya baik dari sisi Rijal Sanad dan sisi hukumnya.
