This position causes woman\u2019s movements and rights to be narrow and limited. This is certainly contrary to the values of justice as basic principle of Islam. Therefore, a review of this hadith needs to be understood metaphorically. Hadith about \u201ccreation of woman from the ribs\u201d actually aims to increase the degree and dignity of woman, positioned as a life partner. So that realtions between man and woman can be created in harmony by protecting and respecting each other.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keywords: hadith, the ribs, woman.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstrak<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pemahaman secara tekstual terhadap hadis penciptaan perempuan dari tulang rusuk mengarah pada pemahamanbahwa perempuan berada di bawah dominasi lelaki. Posisi ini menyebabkan gerak dan hak-hak perempuan menjadi sempit dan terbatas. Hal ini tentu bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai keadilan sebagai prinsip dasar agama Islam. Oleh karenanya, pengkajian ulang terhadap hadis ini perlu dilakukan secara lebih komprehensif. Melalui pengkajian ulang, didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa hadis ini perlu dipahami secara metafor. Hadis penciptaan perempuan dari tulang rusuk sebenarnya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan derajat dan martabat<br \/>\nkaum perempuan, diposisikansebagai partner hidup.
