In the history of Islamic civilization, conflict is always there, one factor that raises conflict is political associated with leadership issue. Even the first conflict occurred in Islam had it after the Prophet Muhammad died. This factor influenced relatively to the study of hadith. Islamic history has experienced &#8220;bitter notes&#8221; since many wars deployed many companions of the Prophet (\u1e63a\u1e25\u0101bah). They, who are considered fair in the Hadith narration, seemed to have desire to rule, and for the sake of power, they were willing to fight each other. Despite various reasons of religious importance and doctrines, this historical accident has affected to even our recent study of the source. This was renewed after the occurrence of the al-fitnah kubr\u0101, which culminated in the battle of \u1e62iff\u012bn between &#8216;Al\u012b bin Ab\u016b \u1e6c\u0101lib and Mu&#8217;\u0101wiyah ibn Ab\u016b Sufy\u0101n in 37 AH. Atleast after this war, the study of hadith experienced quite rapid development with the emergence of various kinds of the sect, group or current flow in Islam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keywords: Hadith Studies, Conflict, al-Fitnah al-Kubr\u0101, \u1e62iff\u012bn War.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Abstrak<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tulisan ini berusaha menjelaskan fenomena kajian hadis sebelum dan setelah terjadi perang \u1e62iff\u012bn. Dalam sejarah peradaban Islam, konflik memang selalu ada, tentu dengan berbagai motif. Salah satu faktor yang memunculkan konflik adalah faktor politik atau yang biasa dikaitkan dengan masalah kepemimpinan. Bahkan konflik pertama kali terjadi dalam Islam adalah terkait kepemimpinan setelah Nabi Muhammad wafat. Faktor inilah yang memiliki pengaruh terhadap kajian hadis pada masa awal sejarah Islam. Meskipun pada masa Nabi Muhammad, sunnah sudah dicatat tetapi selalu saja ada problem yang perlu dikaji ulang. Sejarah Islam telah mengalami \u201ccatatan pahit\u201d karena banyak terjadi perang, bahkan di kalangan sahabat sendiri. Sahabat yang dinilai adil dalam periwayatan hadis, nampaknya memiliki keinginan untuk berkuasa. Demi kekuasaan, mereka rela berperang meskipun dengan berbagai macam alasan dogma agama. Nampaknya, ini merupakan suatu kecelakaan sejarah yang tidak bisa dihindari. Kajian hadis pada masa sahabat cukup ketat sehingga tidak semua mereka bisa meriwayatkan hadis.
